The Whole is Greater Than the Sum of Its Parts was created as a super graphic installed in the Joliet Junior College hallway for Environmental Science Department. I developed a concept inspired by the psychological principle that human experience cannot be understood by looking at individual parts alone, but rather as a complete, connected whole. The design features a woman’s head formed from a collage of memories and photographs, visually representing how thoughts, experiences, and emotions come together to shape identity. This solution is effective because it communicates a complex psychological idea in a visually engaging way, creating a meaningful and thought-provoking experience for students and visitors
